The area has a rich history and tradition, and this is reflected in the various festivals and celebrations that take place throughout the year. Some of the most important festivals in the Marina Alta include:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Moors and Christians Fair: is one of the most important festivals in the Marina Alta, which is celebrated in several towns in the area, including Alcoy, Onil, Petrer and Bocairent. The fair is a historical re-enactment of the time when the Moors occupied Spain, and is characterized by parades with colorful costumes, traditional music and dances, and lots of food and drink.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>D\u00e9nia Fair: is a fair held in September in the city of D\u00e9nia, and features fashion shows, cooking contests, live music and much more.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Las Fallas of Gandia: is one of the most important festivals in the Marina Alta, held in March, and has a large number of monuments and figures made of papier-m\u00e2ch\u00e9, which are burned at the end of the celebration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The festival of Sant Pere: is a religious festival celebrated in the town of X\u00e0bia on June 29, where processions are held and celebrated with a lot of music and dancing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The festivity of the Mare de D\u00e9u del Loreto: is a very popular religious festival in the area, held in September in the town of Calp and features processions and celebrations with music and traditional dances. However, due to the pandemic, it is advisable to check with local authorities or tourism websites for updated information on festivals and celebrations taking place in the Marina Alta.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout the year, tradition and culture come together to transform and unite the people in a characteristic display of culture such as the patron saint festivities.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">BENISSA<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>In Benissa <\/strong>we can find that on the fourth Sunday of April, Benissa meets to celebrate its biggest festival in honor of <strong>the Pur\u00edsima Xiqueta<\/strong>, a wide agenda of events and celebrations including the coronation of the Queen, procession, concert, parades, fireworks, among other acts. On the other hand, we have the <strong>Moors and Christians<\/strong> celebration which dates back to the 1870s, both scenic and musical art come together to create spectacular parades and theatrical performances accompanied by a spectacular soundtrack.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TEULADA- MORAIRA<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br\/><strong>In Teulada Moraira<\/strong> we find the festivities <strong>of Sant Vicent Ferrer in Teulada,<\/strong> festivities that begin on the Monday after Easter Monday, a magical festival with all kinds of events for two weeks. In June we can enjoy one of the most popular festivals in the municipality of Moraira as the<strong> Moors and Christians, <\/strong>with<strong> <\/strong>parades, parades and incredible performances such as the disembarkation on the beach of l&#8217;Ampolla. Moraira also has its patron saint festivities <strong>in honor of Our Lady of the Forsaken, <\/strong>in early July Moraira comes together to form two weeks of festivities and events of all kinds.
